President Dmitry Medvedev has met a group of Chinese children affected by the country’s devastating earthquake. The youngsters met him in the Kremlin at his request.

The children come from the Chinese province of Sichuan.

The children currently spend their vacations on Russia's Black Sea coast.

While in Moscow they were also taken on a sightseeing tour around Moscow.

Medvedev picked up the youngest of the kids in his arms, and the whole group embraced him, according to Itar-Tass news agency.

The President pointed out that over 1,000 children from China will come to different regions of Russia to have holidays.
