Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia Aleksy the Second has held a service in Moscow's Butovo suburb where mass executions were carried out during Stalin's era. Around 1,000 people attended the liturgy.
The service traditionally takes place on the fourth Saturday after Easter. Official records say more than 20,000 people were executed at the site and 320 of them have been made Saints.
