It’s not good business for governments to spend millions on fighting piracy

The vastness of the area popular with pirates brings the piracy-fighting projects close to impossible, which makes it less investment-attractive for governments, sea piracy expert Hans-Christian Mordhorst told RT.

The Thai-flagged fishing trawler “Thai Unit 3” was hijacked by Somali pirates in the Indian Ocean on October 29. The vessel is reportedly crewed by 23 Russians, two Filipinos and a Ghanaian.
