Nonsense! Many economists predicted it with a great deal of precision. And years ahead! All the data was there, and all the analysis was there. There was in fact so much information, and so many papers, that the crisis was almost a non-event! Everybody, but those who choose to live in a cave, knew of it coming, and was worrying about the impact on personal finances. In 2006, it was a common discussion that even the simplest of investors in mutual funds and pension plans asked of their financial advisors. It was the officialdom, the governments and the central bankers that were acting dumb. Making us suspend our disbelief, and resign ourselves to our powerlessness.

You mean all of these Wall Street 'wizards' go to University for all of those years, top of the class, and still don't know what they are doing with complex derivative formulas? Leonard.

“It’s naïve to think that the crisis could have been prevented" I rather think that it is naïve to think that the wrong ways don't lead to human crises of all sorts. And; I rather think that it is naïve to think that the evilest side of history will not repeat again and again over the stupid that never learn. And; Though I fully agree to that the crisis could never been prevented; yet the wrong evil ways that had led to the crisis could have been changed and diverted. How about some moral conducts, honesty, natural rationales and minding logic? The sink of these is the source of all crises.
