A 71-year-old Russian woman who was convicted of aiding in the kidnap of her own granddaughter has been released from an Israeli prison. She came back to Moscow on Saturday morning.
is this a political decision? There is every possibility it could be. Now let's wait and see does Iran get the S-400!!! (but is it in Russia's interests to be selling sophisticated weaponry to a country with which it shares a de facto sea border, and land border with it's CSTO allies, especially when the west has been trying tooth and nail to install a puppet regime in Iran since their puppet's strings were cut 30+ years ago!! Russia has good relations with Iran's current government, but a Saakashvili-Yuschenko type character installed by the west armed with sophisticated Russian weaponry would most certainly not be in Russia's interests.
jsmith I have a distinct feeling that whilst their influence might not be as toxic as in the United States, pro Israel oligarchs have still considerable influence over Russia’s foreign policy when it comes to the ME.
It would be well to just thank Israel for their kind gesture and move on. It is quite stupid to always look for an ulterior motive for everything. Accept a kind act as just that, a kind act, period.
pardon Israel is not a nation which one can associate with mercy and benevolence. I will believe that this nation is not about vengeance and oppression when it shows mercy to the Palestinians. I have never been to Israel I hope I shall never go there.

What is this! To show how benevolent the Zionist state is toward the weak and the vulnerable? Do Russians read international media?
