It should now be clear to any objective person that the Israeli government has lost the plot regarding both its own security and the situation they have created in Gaza. It is deeply sadening to see how a state created as a homeland for an abused and persecuted people following the end of the second world war, has grown to become a state which condones and justifies the persecution of the impoverished people of Gaza. However we must all now look towards the future. It is now up to the world community to guide Israel through this difficult time and to ensure that the suffering in Gaza comes to an immediate end. A good start will be to provide the mechanisms and personnel (UN peace keepers perhaps?) to allow Israel to step back and which will provide security to both the people of Gaza and the people of Israel. The world can no longer afford to turn a blind eye to the people of Gaza, if they do, a much bigger confrontation / conflict will eventually grow from this. Imagine what may have happened if Turkey (the second largest military in NATO) had decided to send warships to escort the seized flotilla and Israel had used force against them too.........
