Very dangerous times are ahead for Iraq. I cannot see how the country can possibly stay together without a strong and unified new government, something that is still a long way off and which may arrive too late. The north has already broken away into defacto Kurdistan, the south is now firmly allied to Iran (who also helped get the last of the British out), and whats left outside the green zone is run by 'gangs' of either Iraqis or US mercenaries. The only thing that works smothly and efficiently in the Iraqi government is the money transfer system that sees the oil revenue go to private off shore bank accounts and / or into the US military system. It will be decades before Iraq gets back to even the level it was at when Sadam Hussain was in power.
