Iranian state television is reporting on Sunday that Iran has test-fired short-range missiles as part of military exercises.
The last time US intelligent advised President the IRAQI possess WMD. US & friends invade IRAQ based that intelligent, latter on President said they made a mistake. How reliable are the intelligent? or intelligent department was influence by the weapon contractor?
Personally, I think the Israelis are waiting for US forces to leave Iraq, when they will no longer be responsible for Iraqi airspace. If Israel attacks Iranian nuclear facilities now, the USA would not be able to say they had no knowledge of the attack or of Israeli aircraft traversing Iraqi airspace. Like with the North Korean facility bombed last year in Syria, the Israelis probably have people on the ground in or near the facilities in Iran. As with the Syrian facility, the Israelis probably know precisely how far Iranian bomb-making has progressed. Once the Americans leave, the Iraqis don't have the means to prevent Israel from crossing their airspace at will. It seems likely that the US administration feel considerable pressure to resolve the situation with Iran before the Israeli's act. My theory is backed up (in part) by the various Israeli purchases of bunker-busting bombs from the USA - which they really don't need for the Gaza strip or Lebanon.

A small ray of hope crossed my desk when Iraqi President Jalal Talabani confirmed today that any new sanctions will not force Iran to "change its policy on the development of nuclear power." Jalal also warned that Iraq will never allow Israel or any other country to use its airspace to carry out an attack against Iran’s nuclear facilities for which I have sent a letter of gratitude to the president. AP reported Talabani saying the six major powers dealing with the Iran nuclear issue (the five permanent members of the UN Security Council and Germany) should conduct "a real negotiation" with Iran and guarantee Tehran''s right to the peaceful use of nuclear technology. Asked whether Iraq believes the Iranian government when it says it is not trying to develop nuclear weapons, he said, "I think the Iranian leadership explained that the bomb is against Islam because it's killing innocent people." Talabani said a fourth round of UN sanctions against Iran won’t work if no progress is made in talks which is planned to start on October 1 in Geneva. "I don''t think that sanctions will oblige Iran to change its policy." He said, "I think the first step is negotiation, is dialogue." "We are for having the right of all nations for peaceful energy and technology," he said, "and we are against any producing of the bomb in the Middle East." On a possible Israeli military action against Iran''s nuclear facilities, given its location between the two countries, he replied, "Iraq will never permit any country to use Iraqi land or sky in any war and any aggression." Iran has helped the Children of Iraq Association provide support for the disabled and orphaned children in Iraq. Iran's aid has also reduced the dreadful infant mortality rate in Iraq. In appreciation to President Jalal Talabani. God Bless you Mark Golding Chair Children of Iraq Association LONDON
