Iran certainly needs to inform all relevent bodies of its activities in line with international law and agreements. Any other conduct is unacceptabel and will only be counterproductive, as it will be siezed upon in an attempt to deny them an energy program. But we are not really going to be acting in a fair way unless we start to broach the issue of Israel's nuclear capability in this region as well. What we need is a regional thrust, for the whole middle east, to rid and prevent nuclear weapons capability there. This means adressing Israel as well!

According to the IAEA rules, countries must inform the Agency six months ahead of a gas injection in their uranium enrichment plants. Iran did it 18 months in advance. Iran hasn't broken any IAEA regulations. The USA claims it knew about it 2 years ago, which apparently was before it was even started, in that case why didn't they say something? Let's look at reality, Iran has never expressed an interest in nuclear weapons, indeed on more than two occasions they've called for the Middle East to be completely free of them. Iran hasn't attacked another country for about 200 years, the countries making most of the noise do it every 2 years.

Didn't the US help Pakistan acquire nuclear weapons program in the 80’s? And are Turkey, Pakistan and Israel not involved in nuclear weapons smuggling as revealed by Sidel Edmonds?

What everyone seems to be forgetting is that Iran is not a stable country. It has a president whom calls for the destruction of another sovereign state and wishes the death of all of its people. It has done so repeatedly. It is a country ran by a dictatorship that suppresses its own people and holds control through corruption and force. They are a country that needs a regime change not nuclear weapons nor the ability to create nuclear material. The Chinese and Russians don’t want them to have nuclear weapons any more or less than the United States. Iran is in their backyard and the situation could destabilize the region by causing a nuclear arms race. The arab states who form the majority of Iran’s neighbors also do not want a nuclear armed Iran. Iraq who shares a border with Iran has repeatedly presented proof of its meddling in Iraqi affairs. Iran openly supports Hezbollah and Hamas two known terrorist organizations. The people of Iran need help to overthrow the current theological dictatorship and the entire world heard them cry for it after their elections.

If Russia does not back IRAN 100 percent its credibility amongst its customers will continue to evaporate. What will keep Iran to start courting a more loyal friend like the USA?

Gordon Browns Labour Party conference will be known in history as a big charade. As meltdown approaches the cabal which Gordon Brown has garnered to support his waning fortunes will get their pound of flesh (whilst the genuine Labour Party supporters are sleeping at conference). A nuclear strike on Iran before exiting office !! We should beware that this falsehood is not foisted upon Great Britain. GB has already acquisced to their quid pro quo - witness Miliband's recent changing of JackStraws 'inconcievable' position. Conference has to be alert and VEHEMENTLY stamp down on this falsehood before a great sin is laid at the door of the British Nation in pursuit of their settlement interests. There is also a rising crescendo from their kin in the media too. Enough said - perhaps that destiny will be the last nail on the coffin of the union. The truth will become clear as we watch the Oxbridge CIA spy Blair (who is now trying to hide behind a newly found spiritual facade) making a subtle pitch for this course of action.

Vladimir - You are correct, Russia needs back Iran 100% in terms of its right to peaceful use of nuclear technology; not to do so, would be a travesty and allow once again the west to flaunt international law. It must also back 100% Iran's ability to defend itself, and that should be in the form of advanced air defence systems. The problem is however twofold, the first is internal, inside Russia at grass roots level - read the bloggs, there is a lot of anti-Palaestinian feeling, externally Russia has much to gain short term with being 'best' pals with the west. So an easy way short term for Russia is to face west. However, this would be one of the biggest mistakes to make for us. Instead Russia should take any short term damage and stand firmly for principles, allowing Iran to have access to nuclear technology and be safe from western terrorist threats of do what we want or we bomb you. The Israeli people also have a right to safety, whilst any long term solution is worked out, and Russia must also work hard to ensure this. However, what we must absolutely not do is take sides, what we must do is ensure human safety and the rights of all, so that a long term political solution can we worked out. The days of Israel rattling its Saber, standing behind the western hypocracy bully must be placed firmly in the past. Russia's future is linked with Iran's future. The west knows this, if we are stupid enough to help the west with its agenda here, then it will be a very sad day for Russia indeed. It will be a shot in our own foot!
