“Better to cooperate with Iran than struggle to stop it”

Iran will probably go nuclear eventually, so the US and other countries would do better to focus on managing it as a nuclear power rather than try to prevent the inevitable, said Ivan Eland of the Independent Institute.










No one should be cooperating with Iran to create a nuclear weapon, in the same way that no one should be cooperating with Israel to keep a clandestine stock of nuclear weapons. What we should do, is cooperate with everyone in the middle east to eliminate all nuclear weapons in the region and provide a mechanism for verifiable peaceful exploitation of nuclear energy. The model needs to be clear of western control and finacial exploitation, which is the main driving force with attempts to deny middle eastern countries nuclear technology.
