Iran demands sanctions to be lifted

Published 30 Nov, 2007 10:47 | Updated 30 Nov, 2007 13:47

Iran’s top nuclear negotiator is expected to present a fresh proposal about its nuclear programme at a meeting in London. Tehran insists it needs nuclear technology to produce electricity and demands that sanctions be lifted.

Saeed Jalili is meeting EU Foreign Policy Chief, Javier Solana, who'll report back to the UN.

The meeting comes as a delegation from the International Atomic Energy Agency completes its inspection of nuclear fuel at Russia's Novosibirsk Plant.

It will be sent to Iran's first atomic power station which Russia is helping to build.
