Iran’s nuclear decisions are the way to show that it is an independent state and has the undisputable right to develop a peaceful nuclear program, said Seyyed Mohammad Marandi from the University of Tehran.

“The United States must not misread the situation in the country,” Marandi said. “The Iranians are adamant that, as a sovereign country, they will pursue their right to enrich uranium for peaceful purposes, especially when we take into account the fact that there has never been evidence whatsoever provided to show that the Iranian program is anything but peaceful.”

“Iran has been pursuing [progress] not only in the nuclear field but also nanotechnology, in stem cell research, as well as others, and it is a very advanced country in all these different fields.”

Irans faliure to play the media like the western powers has made them easy meat for the western media 'grinding machine'. Whatever they say and do, the western media finds it easy to turn it round and use it 'as evidence' against them. Iran must really start emplying some western style media tactics if they are to even begin to counter the west. All the US, Israel, and the UK need to do (and are currently actively and very successfully doing) is to convince the ignorant masses that Muslims are evil, fanatical, and seek to destoy the west. They can then present a case to their electorate that Muslim countries cannot and must not be trusted with nuclear technology, and they must therefore be stopped - at whatever the cost, because failure to stop them will bring about the destruction of civilisation. Once the lives of Muslims have been devalued and they have been de-humanised, it is much easier to send in the military against them. The manipulation of the media should be as transparent as air to any intelligent and informed individual, unfortunatly however such individuals do appear to be in short supply at this moment in world history. The unfolding story is so obvious that it could have been taken from the script of some rubbish TV show, yet millions of people around the world are buying into this madness. I am afraid that the 'great powers' have already decided Irans fate - the only thing that is uncertain is the time scale. We are now watching this script unfold and build up to 'TV and media climax' sometime in the next few months - once there has been enough hate and fear propogated to justify some fools decision to press one or two 'red buttons'. The drum beats of war are definately getting louder...........
