A protest has taken place in the Indian capital Delhi over the release of a group of men who beat up young women in a pub. The case of so-called moral policing has shocked the country.

This is confusing. On the one hand "women" are being driven out of the pub. Then it says eight "girls" were injured. Does this mean that some of the female members of the crowd were underage? Were any boys present?
