Despite forging a sense of unity, Victory Day alone is not enough to remedy the atmosphere in the post-Soviet era, said Andrey Baykov from the Moscow State University of International Relations.

Which victory are these people celebrating? There are at least three: 1) the death of Hitler who killed tens of millions of Russians; 2) the death of Stalin who killed tens of millions more after Hitler died; and 2) the end of the Soviet Union, a secret form of government renown for the killing of at least a few million more of it's own citizens. If everyone would just celebrate all three at the same time there should be no reasons for unhappiness.
