While this whale shark catch appears to be an accident, whale sharks are an endangered species and should not be harvested. Actually, Cuba has some tours targetted to Russian scuba-divers to invite them to go to Cuba to swim with these huge docile animals.

Whale shark my a**. I think it was a new Unmanned Underwater Vehicle(UUV), of the type so beloved of the US. You can't give the Americans an inch. Next they'll be telling us they've found Bin-Laden. And killed him!

"lucky" ... what a terrible way to put it.  We watch an endangered species get killed because of fisherman and we think that it's lucky because they will make so much money.  Perhaps the cost is more.

So they allege that the poor whale shark got caught in their destructive torture nets & conveniently died so it could be auctioned off for quick cash.  How do we know the innocent creature wasn't killed purposely? With such cash incentives?  This is an OUTRAGE.  The unnecessary destruction those nets cause!  Insane.    Never put money before compassion you losers!
