Israel has turned Gaza into a prison as a punishment for its people voting for Hamas. It is not civilised behaviour to impose hunger and misery on a whole population in this way.

With all the attacks on Israel why don`t you show the massive number of knives ,clubs that were found hidden on that so called "peace" fllotila ? why don~t you mention the massacre that those "pitiful" Turks committed on more than 1,000,000 helpless Armenians ???!!!

The group of terrorists that has been arrested by Israeli navy corps is the same organization of criminals Russian spetsnaz and GRU are fighting with success in Dagestan and Ingushetia, occasionnaly in Chectchnya. The same who perpetrated terror acts in Moscow's metro. Russian population is well aware of this, in southern Russia there is a lot of empathy for Israeli citizens, because we live in similar conditions, under the threat of terrorism from islamics.

It is very unlikely that any more ships (unless escorted by a major foreign power) will get near to Gaza - the credibility and pride of the Israeli military is now at stake and they may feel the need to demonstrate that they have not been humbled by world opinion. The Israelis will indeed attempt to stop or divert these boats. It is most likely that if the boats fail to stop voluntarily nets will be used to stop the propellers / other disabling methods used. The boats could then be towed to an Egyptian port, or it the Israelis are feeling brave and want to make a point, an Israeli port. It has been aledged that the Israelis used sophisticated electronic jamming equipment to stop any live television broadcasts coming from the last flotilla - something the media on board these boats should be aware of.

On any ship of that size there could reasonably be expected to several hundred knives - knives used for eating, knives used for food preparation, knives used by the crew for various tasks. Knives are primarily tools - they are sold in most supermarkets and hardwear shops. Axes are often on ships too for fire use / cutting lines. Any common item such as a chair could have the legs pulled of to make a club. The people on board this ship were terrorised prior to the boarding by men armed with guns. They were angry and were protecting the ship and its cargo from being seized by armed men in gunboats and in helicopters. The passengers on the boat did not kill anyone. The armed men gunned down civillians armed only with bits of wood / metal and some kitchen knives.

Israel will never accept a two-state solution because they know the moment the Palestinians have a vote they will use it to further their people . Keeping vital food and medicine from children is not going to keep Israel safe . Hamas was democratically elected as is no better or worse than any other form of government . Whatever party leads Palestine is accused of terrorism because they don't want to accept U.S./Israel conditions .

Arrogance embeds itself in the US-UK-Israel imperial system. The end is not yet at hand but misjudgments - oil pollution in the Gulf of Mexico, military murders in the seas off Gaza, debt and financial corruption undermining British (and other colonial European) economies - show imperial leaders so convinced of their power that they arrogantly assume any error they make can be easily rectified. The American Empire currently runs on "quick fixes". Unfortunately the poor people of the global empire die, or are humiliated, or impoverished by the bureaucratic blunders of its omnipotent leaders.

To be very honest, personally I'd have waited until the ship was within territorial waters and simply have sunk it. Israel, no matter how it handles any such situation is going to be comdemned by one faction or other. I keep hearing about how Israel is violating 'international law' in any of it's actions regarding Gaza / Hamas. What about Gaza / Hamas actions against Israel, unprovoked missle attacks, bombings, etc., etc., etc. As I see it, over the past 60 + years the Israels have built on hell of a country out of what was nothing but desert and had always extended an open and welcoming hand to the Palestinians. In response that hand has always been first slapped away and then every attempt has been made to cut it off. The situation there reminds me of the goings on here, where the supposed 'minorities' have come to expect to be given everything for nothing from the people that have spent their lives working to EARN what they have. I am soooooooo tired of hearing these left-wing, bleeding heart liberal whatevers, crying their crocodile tears for the oh so poor terrible wronged 'minorites'. If they feel so bad for those people let them take all the money that they appearently have as none of them seem to have all the time they do to critize and not have to work, and all get together and BUY a portion of Jordon (where most Palestinians live anyway) and let them start their own little country (and all the liberal whatevers can go with them). They will be getting a head start and instead of trying to destroy something of someone else's they can put their energies into BUILDING something for a chance. But I guess that wouldn't work because it makes to much sense.

whoa Bob, unprovoked?? If another man moves into your home and restricts your family's movement within your home, don't you have a right to protest? Don't you have a right to destroy him? Please read your history because clearly you don't know the fact that Israel is built on Palestinian land. They stole that land, they must go back to Germany, Russia, Poland and wherever else they came from

@ joseph Are you comparing 19Th century ottoman empire with 21st century Israel? that's really odd.Why don't you include the Germany since that is even more recent event. We all saw the weapons of mass destruction that the Israel navy was facing.Including a photo of an Bloody saline bottle that Israel claimed was an explosive device. How shocking that an Israeli doctor could not tell its navy what the bottle was. @ Kristjan It amazes me how some people label the humanitarian convoy as terrorists.Shall we examine which ships were involved? Challenger 1 and 2 both American, Eleftheri Mesogeios and Sfendoni which is Greek,MS Sofia is swedish to name a few. how about some of the people? Iara Lee Brazilian filmmaker,Annette Groth,Inge Höger and Norman Paech who are German MPs,Aengus Snodaigh who is an irish MP,Mairead Corrigan Nobel prize laureate,Denis Halliday Former UN Assistant Secretary-General,Waleed Al-Tabtabaie Kuwaiti MP,Joe Meadors a USS Liberty incident. just to name a few.Read for yourself http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_participants_of_the_Gaza_flotilla Some group of terrorist they are. It seems that when the anti Semite defence fails, you can always rely on the war on terror one. @ Bob Israel did not build anything,it was actually the American taxpayer that did and still does.If the USA pulls its funding,Israel will collapse.Yes we have seen just too well the welcome hand Israel had extended to the Palestinians over the years.Like building in occupied territory after kicking Palestinians off it.So why are there Palestinians living in Jordan in the first place? Ah yes they were kicked out of their lands in Palestine and are now refugees there.

If Israel has turned the desert into a garden then the bill for the transformation has been paid by the American tax payer. For decades every year without fail billions of dollars have flowed from the USA to Israel. And I don't doubt that much of the cheap labour that actually did the work was provided by Israeli Arabs. Israel has many of the characteristics of the old apartheid regime in South Africa. And to this state that is increasingly loathed by the worlds population the government of the USA is joined hip and thigh. Now , in a game changer, Israel has attacked and killed Turkish citizens in international waters. They have smoothed the path of the Turkish governments new foreign policy. They have weakened all the political forces of secularism in Turkey. They have identified Turkish nationalism with active opposition to the Israeli state. And last but not least they have shown that NATO offers no protection to Turkey from the threats it faces in the twenty first century. It will prove politically impossible for the government of the USA to change its policy of appeasement towards Israel's petty Imperialism. And therefore impossible to prevent further disasters for the American/Israeli axis.
