Regardless of how cold it gets, the streets of Russian cities in winter are reminiscent of a fur fashion catwalk, with a kaleidoscope of women in pelts of all sizes, colors and designs.

Western capitalist economy is maintains with the deaths of millions of people in poor countries each year. Let Russian women wear their fur coats with style. Russia is cold and these coats keep women warm and beautiful and Russian men looking real men/hunters/heroes.

Russian women are as mentally sick as western vomen. Whatever they do is "frime". To appreciate a real lady, she does not have to wear fur-coats, eat "foie-gras" and have a milimeter of painting on her face; she just have to be intelligent. Personnally I support what Brigitte Bardot and many other vomen do for animals' protection and respect. Sincerely. Jean-Claude Meslin

For once Sarah, I completely desagree with you: The beauty of a human being is what he or she has in the head; not whole that phony stuff which get us to the point that now, most people have a cash-register instead of brain in the upper part of their body. We can keep warm, be beautifull, look like real men or women without inflicting whole that cruaulty to animals. Sorry all God's ceatures which are not that nuisible species called humans. Sarah, please go to Quebec and watch how baby seals are murdered. Then when you will be back home, I bet that you will burn all your fur coats. Because thru your many comments, you seem to be a kind person... Best Regards... Jean-Claude Meslin

It's a refreshing to see women who actually give a flying flip about their appearance. Russian women are beautiful and they always have respect, style, and class for themselves. They actually care about what their appearance to the world and are just exquisitely beautiful. If only more women would take more stock in themselves. Oh well.

There's nothing wrong with wearing fur at all regardless of the reasons. Wear it for its warmth, wear for its beauty, wear it because you love it, it does not matter. Wear it if you want because that is what freedom of choice allows us regardless of what those would preach their morality would say about it. Don't let anyone intimidate you either way, make your own free choice. I would avoid buying fur that is raised in China. However, fur that is raised in Europe, Canada, and America are the best options for both animal welfare and quality. Many coats are manufactured in China, which is fine, while the fur was raised in Europe, Canada, or America. Read the label to find the information.

I think that the whole fur thing is ridiculous,, If you want to wear it then do! If not,, keep it to yourselves. Being from a rural area in Texas,, I can understand the use of animal products. Yes, I eat meat, I use leather, and use the skin for clothing, Furniture etc. Sooo I dont understand why Non-fur people fell like they have the right to make pro-fur people feel horrible.

RT, Tell me why, you did not publish what I have sent yesterday on that topic, related to the three sad comments made by others. I start wandering about your real sincerity; unless you have stocks in the furs'industry... Jean-Claude Meslin

if one considers conservation as a goal, and if one has that in mind; it is a worthwhile effort to harvest the animals and help those that do the work to produce these garments. it takes skill. as long as the animals are harvested cleanly as they obviously are, and the workers are appropriately paid, why is there a problem? people wear leather, eat meat, and use other resources. man has dominion over the animals. it is our responsibility to preserve and protect them for the best use.

OK, so you guys love doing stories on Chinese killing and using animal parts in traditional chinese medicine and leave no stone unturned in vilifying east asian nations continuing their ritualistic practices. But when it comes to Russia, nothing else matters but fur!! Incredible, duplicity is the core of your armchaired journalism. Its time Russian women get the fuzz out of their brain and the fur off their hangars.

Here is something for all you Animal Rights and Activists to think about as you are so passionate about cruelty to animals and so forth.Look at what you are wearing and also what you have in your closet and in your home and car. Do you have a leather belt, shoes or handbag? Does your car have leather seats? Do you have a leather purse or wallet? Do you eat meat in any form? Do you own a horse and have a saddle and bridle? Do you have leather gloves or a leather coat... maybe even a sheepskin one?If you answered YES to any of these questions ... then leave your hypocritical comments at the door and say no more EVER. All leather is, is the skin with the fur taken off!!!
