There are theories that the ´global warming´ actually in certain intervals will produce an opposite effect - extreme cold, and is perhaps what we witness now. Governments have to start take recursion measures making sure people are sheltered in warm housings.

Today, British-financed & armed Indian Army is being used to clear populations to make way for multinational corporations & extractive industries (as Arundhati Roy & others have documented). A SPACECAST 2020 paper advocated modifying ionosphere through insertion of gaseous compounds which can also be enhanced by shooting a high energy laser, microwave, or particle beam, having a jamming effect on the "enemy’s" radiowave propagation. This gives the Pentagon Full Spectrum Dominance over communications. According to Russia Today (November 24 2011), America’s research facility in Alaska has been interfering with Russia’s Mars probe, suggesting that HAARP is one of the many ground-based apparatus involved in the weaponization of space.

Weather weapons & earthquake bombs are a fraction of America’s commitment to achieving Full Spectrum Dominance by 2020. We need to be responsible & realise that taxes have paid for decades of this (evil) secret research. That is pretty damned cold, and for a rather long period of time (30 days+).  Please, those of you thus affected -- be careful, stay bundled up, keep warm, and avoid excessive amounts of alcohol unless you are burning it instead of drinking it.

Disclaimer:  As a youth, I spent a few years in the Northern USA, and had a record cold front sweep through the region one winter when the temperatures dropped to minus 42 degrees (Fahrenheit, not Celsius) for a day.  I went out in it just to experience it for myself, and it was pretty bloody cold.  These temperatures are quite a bit worse.

The article is wrong about Moscow hitting a record low in the last 60 years. Search Wikipedia for "Moscow Climate" and you'll find that since 1948, the record low was -36.6. Much colder than now.

Thanks for the gentle reminder to check conversion tables.  It's been a rather long time since middle school.  The weather phenomena attributed to that cold snap is, IIRC, called the "Alberta Clipper".  Of course, it is the duration of the cold snap which becomes dangerous, along with the wind chill factor.

I remember being amazed at accounts of truckers in Siberia who kept their diesel engines running continuously to keep their engine blocks from cracking due to frozen coolant.  Week-long winter camping trips in 2 feet of snow were memorable.  White-tail deer practically levitate to run in deep snow.  And mistakes in attention to detail could quickly become dangerous, even deadly.
