Once upon a time, people were tossed into the mouths of active volcanoes in order to appease the wrath of the gods. Today, we throw scientists at volcanoes in order to appease the wrath of the people.

when there was a heat wave in Paris thousands of old people dies and where not found until weeks after the heatwave when the smell of death filled the corridors of the apartment blocks old people where living in . Heat is extremely dangerous in countries that are not use to it and have to facilities like air conditioner prevent people from dying of over heat . Russian people are though , thick skinned people and they can handle more than others but heat is a element that they also are not use to . Be aware that the number of deaths in Russia will rise dramatically as did in Paris when no one thought it possible . thanks

My girfriend and I planned to stay in Moscow for vacation but had to leave to St. Petersburg to escape the smoke and heat. This morning I could smell smoke and the sun has an orange glow around it - in St. Petersburg. Our prayers are with everyone in Moscow.

When mother nature strike with full force there is little what a man can do...I do hope that soon, weather conditions will change and bring stop to all of this wildfires in Russia. Some help coming from Poland,France,Italy and others(all credit to them ) so i think in the end fires will be stoped somehow. Russia have huge amount of land covered with woods(I think biggest in the world) so lessons from this fires shall be learned...Russia must be fully prepared from next year on! Plan to be 110% ready must be in place for future. Russia must have more firefighters, better tools, more chopers and jets, regular patrols, much better organisation in case of wildfires and so on. Also, I think you have to cut some 5%-10% of tress on purpose to minimize fires of spreading as we can see in this case.We in Australia, lost 173 lifes in bushfires resently so I am well aware about horror and what fire is...I can see your govenment doing a lot to help those who survive and lost a loveones and their property.Keep promise to rebuild all lost houses before this year end...... Above all-LESSON MUST BE LEARNED FULLY (danger for all of this -looking at climate change around the world- to happend again will rise with coming years)FOR FUTURE TIMES TO COME....All best to you! Thank you...

The last thing the US needs right now is a further deterioration of relations with Russia. Advisory and warning to the US -->The US needs to be forthcoming about Russian concerns here, and completely open and honest, as the lesson is very well learned like always.

I have not long returned from Moscow and have felt helpless as I would have liked to have given an extra pair of hands to help with these fires. An extra pair of hands is better than nothing at all. To have been there and watch (on TV) homes and villages be destroyed, was very sad. And, to read such stupid comments like that said by Miles Williams is totally uncalled for. The people of Russia are struggling to resolve a situation and are losing a tremendous amount without having to put up with the inconsideration of people like Miles Williams. When I returned to england and told people here about this catastrophy, all I heard was 'what catastrophy? what devastation? We have only heard about Pakistan - yep, and that is all that told about, Pakistan. A country that experiences monsoon rains every year and they still cannot put things right and still expect cash handouts. But to help Russia, yes, a few countries have offered and gone to help Russia but I notice england hasn't, oxfam hasn't, the good old US of A hasn't. RT has been giving good coverage of these fires it is a great pity that other TV stations like Sky or even BBC are not giving the same sort of coverage.

I admire Russia’s patients and political tolerance knowing its fires are man made by the devils in Washington DC and the Financial One Square Mile in London. Russia has got the same HAARP technologies to cause havoc anywhere in the World, but peace loving nations does not choose to do that. Only the devil and the Dark Side of existence are choosing these deadly methods.

Yes, I would like to thank all the nations sending Firemen to help with the fires here. It is a true act of kindness. I know we helped many of the nations who have come here during their times of need too. Even Poland with their floods. It is very nice when there is mutual acts of kindness. I just feel bad many of our beautiful forests are burning, villages are being losts, crops having bad harvest, and people dying. Hopefully, soon there will be rain and end this chapter into history and then move on.

Just take a look at this map of the countries that are offering Russia immediate support as the nation battles wildfires. Many of these countries include Germany and Italy and also key nations in the former Soviet Space. The U.S can set up bases in central Asia as Russia fights wildfires but the U.S lacks cultural affinity and close relations with the people of the region and with Europe as well. central Asia and Europe really prefer peace to militarism and violence and that why they are helping Rusia fight these wildfires. We can see who is not offering help to Russia! http://en.rian.ru/infographics/20100810/160140275.html
