It's on the ropes! But we still haven't landed the knockout punch yet.

If genuine move the EU seem to grow brains. But let’s see how the court will try twist it around and find ways to enact it, probably assuming if we lost trust in the politicians we can show trust and humility before their “justice” system.

Let's carry on the fight! Never give up! The invincibility of the EU and all the ACTA-friendly entities is a myth! Same with the banksters-wanksters LOL

Big victory in an ongoing war. This so called "anti - piracy" program has been initiated by entertainment industry in the USA whose only business is to pay off politicians,  pump out government propaganda and lies.  I am shocked to see that relatively civilized and  advanced Europe  has actually  fallen a victim to US propaganda and tried to impose this senseless and stupid law upon its Citizens.  I just hope that courts in Europe aren't as corrupt as they are in the USA, and that it will provide a proper burial for ACTA!

The corporate-banking oligarchy wants to ensure that developing nations have no ground-to-air economy (no one will own a coffee shop they'll be an employee of Starbucks). They do this with a patent on the mouse trap and a copyright on the idea of trapping mice. ACTA does this job.

I am an anti-establishment if there is one, but I dont understand on what basis people protest on the copyrights of the authors of music, literature, software etc. I mean, I am a software programmer among other things and I break my (read it in one word ) as s  countless hours working to develop an application. How in the hell am I supposed to provide that for free ? who is going to pay for my bread and butter ?

The same way open source applications get paid - sponsorships, advertising on websites, etc. Actual software sales isnt the only way to make money with your software...

People need to quit focusing on the anti-piracy parts of ACTA and focus on the dangerous aspects like attacking Generic Medications and the Monsanto Seed takeovers.   These two pieces alone affect the entire world!

@lolz

 I cannot agree with that. It is not ethical from the side of the people to grab everything for free, they could go to a supermarket and steal chips and cigarrettes and claim that the supermarket should place advertising to make a living from that. Or should I steal your bike or car and tell you to place up an advertisement on your doorgate so that you can make a living out of that ?

I'll admit that i download stuff illegally... but then who doesn't? almost every site online violates some sort of copyright or trademark, or even just use the intellectual property of someone else without permission...  even the news sites, hell even google... look at the google search logo, you know the one they constantly change... oh and if the corporations don't want to deal with piracy i have an awesome suggestion... GO ANALOG! computers are digital, and if everything is analog then, well, who is going to be able to put music on a cassette in this day and age? oh i forgot, they went digital for $$$ as thats what they are all after... most of the time when me or my froends download something illegally its because you can't get it anymore without paying a fortune for second hand as the games are out of production or the company went out of business due to other companies having better marketing or items for sale... all this is, all any anti-piracy law is, is nothing more then the politicians grabbing at the money offered by the corporations and telling everyone else to just bend over and take it. Its time the people of the democratic world woke up and told the politicians to either do what they are paid to do and administrate the countries fairly and for the common people or to retire/quit... in other words its time for people to stop being sheep and start behaving like what we are... living, thinking and for the most part rational human beings

Biological, chemical and atomic bomb!  Contaminated blankets given to native americans, chemicals used agent orange in Vietnam and Iraq! A bomb in Japan!  A disgrace that you are so ill informed and spread lies, as a cancerous cell for a country loyal to Israel!

The problem is copyrights and patents  were suppost to last long enough to recover the investment cost and make a profit. But now they never end and that stops any further development
Time Warner owns the rights to the happy birthday song so if you sing that at a birthday party and video it then post it on youtube  you'll have a problem.

I own my own software company, so copyrights are important to me, however, NOT as important as people's freedom to communicate. ACTA is a sham, it is designed to protect the BIG guy's, maybe if I was a "BIG Guy"in the software game my greed might overpower my judgement and respect for people's rights, thankfully, it does NOT! Support FREEDOM at ALL costs! Besides, when people "steal" my software, its is not like they stole my car. I will still have my software, just not the money from the crook who is likely too cheap to buy it anyway. My loss? Minor and livable...unlike the loss of my individual freedom via ACTA, which I respect more than profit. Big Companies have bought and paid for the US Government and corrupted it beyond recognition, don't let them spread their Corpratism around the world under the guise of "fairness". Come on EU, get a clue and grow some stones!
