The EU is a colonial and highly bureaucratic regime, and is not a structure the UK should be part of. That is according to Gerard Batten of the UK Independence Party, who is also a European Parliament Member.

“It is an economic and democratic disaster. First of all, there is no reason for the European Union. I mean, the way it was sold to people 40 years ago and has been ever since is that we must have it for trade and jobs. We do not need it for trade and jobs, even the European Union has backed down from that argument,” he said. “What we need is trade with Europe and the rest of the world, friendship and cooperation. We do not need to be members of this vast bureaucratic organization in order to achieve that.”

“What is actually worse than that is the loss of democracy. The Germans calculated in 2006 that about 83 per cent of new laws now come from the European Union, not from their own parliament. And in this report they question whether Germany could be really called a functional democracy any more because of this fact,”
Batten added. “It is equally true for the UK, a similar type of country. 80 per cent of our laws now come from the institutions of the EU, which is not democratic, so how can we be a democracy?”

.in the end everything is a big lie to obtain power to keep mankind under control. seriously, i'm no conspiracy theorist. just have a look at the world. we're constantly being screwd over by the media, governments, and other organisations like the pharma industry with false information. did you know for example that aids, hepatitis, cancer and pretty much all of our diseases are curable? check for MMS, Collodial Silver, DMSO, Rife Microscope do your research! - i know this theme doesn't belong in this thread, plus my english sucks.. sorry for that - What i'm trying to say is that we are given a huge bone to chew on, and by the time we realise that the bone was a big lie, there are some new bones given out to chew on. Politics really dont intrest me, as you probably can tell. Maybe 5% of what we are told is true, and the other 95% to keep us busy.... (I mean just ask yourself this simple question: Who got the money from saddam husseins forzen bank acc.? So what happens? People like you argue wheter the EU is good or not (which is not a bad thing, please don't get me wrong), fact is that we contribute to the corruption with our tax money and allow this bureaucrats to do how they please. i mean this sounds paranoid, but i believe that in a couple of years everything arround the world is going to be in hands of a couple of hundred BIG corporations that pull the strings as they please. Maybe not who knows..... But it is important that we keep our rights as humans. PARTICULARLY THE INTERNET cause it is a medium to spread Information through the world. And as you may know (or not, yust google it, youtube it, whatever) there are plans to shut it down. It's going to sound something like this: In order to fight terrorism the internet will be shut down. It's allready happening; In China for example. And dare you if you go against the government.... This is going to be our future if we keep chewing the bone.. We think we're free but the truth is far, far away..

I don't acccept that all EU countries are democratic, and I certainly don't accept that the process to follow further integration developments of the EU is a democratic one. The all countries are democratic, is a sham tool to deny the people of countries a referendum on the issue of their loss of sovereignty. There is no way, that the concept of the formation of national parliments, envisioned a notion that it could give away sovereingty. But some don't have constitutions to protect them. However, I do understand the aspiration to be part of a great entity in the world, to have a world say. This is one of the reasons I am so happy to be Russian, to belong to something of power, a driving force in the world. This doesn't decry small nations, but they must have a different role, simply by virtue of their capabilities. That doesn't mean they can't have great high quality lives, it just means they can't be a great world influencing and deciding body. However I think it is one thing to have a homogeneous great country, and another to try to assemble a nation by glueing together pieces into a heterogeneous structure, with fault lines and destructive opposing forces. Yes I understand the US is explioting Europe, and that there is a feeling that if Europe was just one entity together, they could oppose, but in reality aren't you just building a EUSSR with the US first as an entity this time around. From a Russian perspective I am very happy with an EU single object, augmented with bilateral links to the key EU players, so the EU is good for me. In truth I don't care how much integration takes place, because the EU will always be a multiflawed large diamond. It will be large, but under pressure it will splinter. That is its nature, and this is what makes it perfect for us, it is a mixture of great markets for us, commonality and stabilising internal control, but with a safety mechanism of destruction under pressure. Indeed we can work with the EU on many things.

ALL member states of the EU are democracies with elected Governments, and they can choose to go ahead with next steps, or stay outside as Norway or Switzerland did. There is no obligation to be a member state of the EU, and in fact the EU has rejected Turkey´s application for three decades, and Morocco´s application for two decades. Personally, I support a European Federation of 500 million people, a GDP of $15 Tr. and a Defense Budget of $300 bn. which can have a say in World affairs instead of being as present a NATO Dictatorship under U.S. Command. We need a European head of NATO-Europe instead of a U.S. Viceroy, a U.S. Dictator like Stravidis or Craddock....but that will not be possible until we reach political unification, with a common European Intelligence Service and Diplomacy, taking into account the European geopolitical reality instead of the American one. Of course, the U..S. just wants the EU as a Market and Protectorate, but We will be Free.
