Diplomats injured in Sri Lanka

Nine people have been injured, including an American and Italian ambassador, when military helicopters carrying foreign envoys were attacked by militants in Sri Lanka. The attackers claim they didn't know the helicopters carried diplomats.
The delegation was traveling to inspect an area, devastated by the Asian tsunami in 2004.Several mortar shells exploded as they were landing in the city of Batticaloa, the capital of the eastern province of Sri Lanka.
