Deserted mine causes big crater

A huge crater has appeared on the site of an abandoned mine in the town of Bereznyaki in the Perm Region. All the buildings surrounding it will inevitably fall into the crater, according to an Emergencies Ministry spokesperson.

All the personnel and equipment were evacuated when the salt-mine was flooded in October.
 
Now underground water torrents have eroded the soil and a crater over 70 meters in diameter has emerged above the mine.
