Twelve-year Denis Khokhryakov, abandoned by foster parents in the Dominican Republic, returned to Russia on Friday. He is being accompanied by Russian Presidential Ombudsman for Children Pavel Astakhov.
I thought only "Americans" did this to Russian children! To see that Russians are involved.......What am I to believe?
Animals take care of their young-kind better than humans do. Why is that? Why did it take so long to get him back to Russia for a new start?
Russians! Please respect yourselves & your beautifully soulful culture. The world needs some soul these days, not Darwinist materialism.....No need to dehumanize yourselves when there are so many foreign predators around you willing to that for you.....If you treat yourselves like cattle others will too.
Brother Russians, you don't know how much you're loved here in Serbia. We, Serbs, thinks that Russians are best friends of Serbia.I hope you think that, too ? Anuway, here in Serbia, there are no man children, because of low natality so you could send those kids to Serbia or other Ortodox friendly countries...I can't understand why do you send those kids to America, Latin America, instead of Serbia, Belarrus, Ukraine...Please, if I can help, please contact me, cause Russians are so loved here in Serbia. Forever brothers Russia and Serbia
@sierra nevada, Oh that's what you thought, did you? Then tell us why he ended up in foster care in his country RUSSIA in the FIRST place! RUSSIANS were ALREADY involved, they were the FIRST ones to fail this child, and the one that was returned by Americans in the case you refer to. Why didn't Russia take care of its own in all of these cases? And now, he will more than likely grow up to be even a bigger cost to your society and others will laugh at your misplaced loyalties. I hope for his sake he is not so self righteous and blind as you.
You don't send first world Russian or European kids to go live in the third or second world.
You also check fully, the potential parents.
Europe unite.
@Dusan Dusane, natality is low in Serbia not because we are sterile but because we can't afford to have more children. We couldn't afford to take care of Russian or any other orphans! Neither could teh majority of families in Ukraine or Belarus. And if you are so interested why don't you lobby for one of local Serbian well-stocked orphanages!!! Take care of your own first and then think about spreading "love" across borders! As for the rest of the story - poor kid for being taken back and forth across the globe. Very unfortunate. Hope he finds some stability in his life.
@Sandra Natality in Serbia isn't low just because of low standards, but because we got too comfortable with westernized way of life, which is self-centered and looks at family as "backwards" institution, part of now abandoned paternal traditions. This way of life (brought to us by mass media),combined with poverty and lowered moral standards gave us this result.Every year, there's 200,000 registered abortions. In centuries under Turkish slavery our natality was overwhelming, despite poverty.High natality continued in first half of XX century, but was annihilated by horrific death tools in wars. After 1945. communists destroyed villages,by creating working class out of peasants, moving them to cities.Natality is mainly generated in countryside.Without strong village,we can't have high natality.
Beautiful child.I'd give my left leg to have a boy like that. How did he wind up with the mentally impaired before returning to Russia, anyway?

Elena Nikolayevna Baturina, please step in and set up a charitable national adoption foundation for your country's less privileged children. Make it possible for many young souls in desperate need to find a loving family in Russia rather than abroad, encourage domestic fostering and adoption , invest in your country's future generations.
