The moratorium on the death penalty in Russia, which has been in force for 13 years, should stay in place.
Capital punishment is something that the people of the Russian Federation must consider very carefully. It is much better to let ten guilty ones go free than to execute one innocent person. Decisions of life and death cannot be be decided lightly. Don't rush a decision and get it right.

i hope these judges do the right thing and bring back the death penalty. Russia's decision should be based on the principle that it is a sovereign nation, and the proper punishment of brutal killers is much more important than pace membership. "The only punishment for an irreversible crime (murder) must itself, also be irreversible(death)". Those who say "we shouldn't execute people, what if we kill the wrong guy", we can't give his life back: to this I say "so should we also not imprison people for life, in case we imprison the wrong person? should we not punish people in case we punish the wrong person?" And if you imprison the wrong person, you can't give them back the time they have done. It's sickening that people are more concerned about the right to life of a brutal murderer, what of the victim?? At least the murderer gets a trial, a last meal and the opportunity to say goodbye to his family, something a victim never gets. Capital punishment is not meant as a deterrent, it's simply a matter of the punishment being consistent with the crime.
