Sokolica Monastery 14th century

While much divides ethnic Albanians and Serbs in Kosovo, there is a place where both sides are united. A site in a convent in the mountains gives hope to couples of any faith or nationality struggling to have a child.

First of all, they are not KOSOVARS, they are SERBS or SRBI, then there is no Kosovo’s Serbs or Bosnian Serbs, we are all just Serbs. Is maybe Russia recognized Kosovo as an independent state and new nation KOSOVARS?

the Serbians living in Kosovo need more than a miracle or a divine intervention, to save them from the apartheid entity NATO prides itself on founding. As for the hundreds of thousands forced to leave their homes, well, if NATO can have their way, they will never return home.

Valid point - RT to use word Kosovar?!?!? If that is the official line, that is not something that will be appreciated in Serbia. Or it will be appreciated by those who are in favour of closer links with the West.

Yeah its like saying sibirians or kallingradenians and saying that they are a diffrent people from rest of russia the word kosovars was created by the west and albanians cus it suits their goals in the balcans and makes the landgrab of kosovo easier on forums and on news albanians always claim to be kosovars but in real life they all say albanians same goes for the serbs they dont say bosnians kosovars they just say it plain srbi

Serbs (SRBI) are very, very patient people as anybody who read history knows, Kosovo and Metohiya is Serbian Jerusalem and WILL be returned to Serbia in due course. Last time it took 5 centuries, I no God so will not try to predict the time frame. Russia also lost territories in the past and then recovered them, wheels of history are constantly turning. Nothing lasts forever, that includes Empires! Long Live Greater Serbia!

It seems that RT writers have become innured to the the Western Murdochized journalistic style, and without realizing that they are being had --- parrot the drumbeat of the western "coordinated narrative" imbedded media. For as long as the delusion is being maintained that the Western media is free, the vocabulary will be parroted in the absence of independent thinking. So, for record, there is no such thing as KOSOVARS. This is the invention of the "coordinated narrative", the structured press coordination among the major media in the west. Lie told, retold and repeated hundreds of thousands of times in our electronic age, is too easily accepted as truth. In a country called Serbia (Srbija), Albanian population is a minority. It makes very little difference that in a province called Kosovo, Albanian population constitutes a majority. If statehood is determined by this formula, New Mexico should already be an independent state, or rejoin Mexico. California, Texas, Arizona and Florida, better be prepared for divisions based on their own nationality make up from county to county.

Why let moslems defile the Holy Sanctuary when they do NOT believe that Mary is the THEOTOKOS, THE MOTHER OF GOD? Is NATO making them do that? I think so! Those poor sisters are just scared of the Albanians and hope the heathens do not burn down their Church. Albanians have the biggest birth rate in Europe and they come to Christians Nuns to get MORE babies??? This is just too much!

Greater Serbia is term coined both by West and former Yugoslav communist regime, which is used to prove Serb imperialism on Balkans. What is now defined as (Republic of) Serbia is (roughly) made from Serbian lands of Syrmia,Bačka,Banat,Pomoravlje (Moravian Serbia),Raška,Kosovo and Metohija.Historically, most of this territory was part of medieval state of Raška (except Vojvodina or Serbian Duchy). When Moravian Serbia got liberated of Turks,it took the name Serbia, but its goal was to unite all of the Serbian lands,as kind of "Serbian Piemont",since other lands (except Montenegro) were still occupied by Turkey/Austria-Hungary.So,term "Greater Serbia" is absolete,it should be just Serbia (in whole). And what is now reffered as "Serbia" should bare the name of Raška,when united Serbia is achieved. From this standpoint,it looks like mission imposible, unfortunatelly…

@danica I couldn't agree more with you.Proper localism for Serbs living in Kosovo is Kosovac (singular) and Kosovci (plural) and not "Kosovar(i)",because that doesn't mean anything,it's just albanized form of the word.Albanian colonization of Kosovo started under Ottomans, and continued with every new war,in which Albanians killed and exiled domestic Serbs.Yugoslav communist regime helped them finish what they started, giving them (Kosovo and Metohija province) de facto federal state status in 1974.
For Serbs living in Bosnia, proper localism is Bosanac (singular) and Bosanci (plural),and not "Bošnjak/Bošnjaci",that term was coined by Benjamin Kalay (Austro-Hungarian governor for Bosnia and Herzegovina) in XIX century, who first introduced "Bošnjak nation",as Wienna's attempt to destroy Serbianity in minds of common people of Bosnia, with Catholics and Muslims as main target for achieving that goal, opposed to Orthodox majority, which was brutaly cut down in years that came.
