Russia’s cash-strapped Communist party has come up with a novel way to beat the global financial meltdown – by asking its supporters for money. The party's leader Gennady Zyuganov has appealed to Russians to help him and his comrades fund the p
“To finish what we’ve started we are counting on your help, your supporting shoulder, your strength,” he said.
The money would also go to pay for several communist holidays due in October and November as well as an international leftist forum.
Zyuganov also claims to have foreseen the financial disaster and had for a long time sought ways to avoid it.
The Communist Party is the second largest in Russia and holds 57 seats in the current parliament.
