For once, I agree with the communists for seeing through the white supremacist /Anglo American racial dystopia that is the central premise of this movie. The movie embodies U.S obsession with the need for security [i.e. “ nuclear shield”] whist spreading death and destruction the world over. Use of mercenaries and mass killing of the ‘wrong kind of people’ are central features to the U.S war on terror and this film glorifies both of these colonising imperatives.

Provocative movies are one way to make people come out of the comfort zones they have built around them, and see the world as it actually is. It's very difficult for an average American to be a critic of their government's overseas militaristic aggressions because they are daily being propagandized to "support the president and the troops". Anti Bush-war movies such as "Avatar" (US), "Rendition" (US), "Lions for Lambs" (US), and "Valley of Wolves - Iraq" (Turkish), for example, are an effective way to liberate average American from the yoke of daily pro-war, pro-occupation propaganda put out by the US government and the FOX News network.

Hmm, I see it as a push towards globalism to solve a problem when I see globalism is the problem.

Umm, How does that make any sense? Aren't they trying to BAN this movie because it is PROMOTING Obama?.... Nice use of big words but really... You got it totally backwards.. Its more like, " Wow, those commies are stupid! This movies is trying to show how dumb America is right now but they want to ban it!" O_o

I feel so sorry for those under the communist regime when those "equal" people in charge can spout the first thing that comes into their uneducated minds. I agree with Sarah if anything it was a metaphor for invasion of other countries throughout Earths history and at this present time it is America who are doing so. It is such a shame that the few given a voice in such a controlled state can come up with such nonsense. The film was good but if you've already seen pocahontas/the new world and aliens then its just amazing special effects.

Seems to me it's the world's governments which create our problems... not the world's peoples! And it also seems there are simply far too many of the hubris elitist in control of power (under the flags of ALL ideological "isms"), who have their heads way too far up the wrong end of their own anatomy! I for one do not recognize ANY of them as my superior... period! And neither should you!

Avatar is movie about Serbia. the only difference from real life is the end of movie. Serbia lost war against America. Our arrows couldn't defend our churches (sacred ground in movie). Our people died from hi-tech bombs with radiation. We couldn't defend our territory. churches and all innocent civilians. There r many similar scenes from that movie and Serbia's war against America. Avatar movie had happy ending... Serbia didn't.

Its doesnt make me hate america just because they speak english... it made me hate all humans. blame it on us americans because everyone hates us... but just know we wernt they first country to do things other countries didnt like and we deff wont be the last. like everyone else says.... its a friggan movie... a story.. thats all.. ignorant people look at things and judge them immediatly based on thier past experiences and ideas.. obviously all the people who said these things can think about is how they can link something insignificant to someone they dont like and then see how many people believe them.. its really sad. just remember not everyone in our country is a redneck murderer.. and not a single one of your countries is innocent of some sort of human rights violations. humans in general are just terrible

Actually the movie did not take 4 years to make. It took 15 years. They learn the history of making the film instead of what it's about.

Okay...well I've heard alot of things about Avatar but this has to be the wierdest...I understand and actually accept the Pocahontas fans who accuse Avator of Copyright threat (it is basically a more high tech version of the Disney film) but surely seeing a racial/fascist slur in it is a bit over the top. It is just a film meant for enjoyment and a small release from every day life. I mean surely a film such as City of God (not just singling that one out just brain has gone into dead mode) has more cause for outrage but instead it is being, justifiably, praised for it's political controversy. Maybe the people who find such slurs in films like Avatar should watch more Ken Loach, and other politically minded directors, just to see the absolute hilarity of their "arguments."

Another reason this is stupid the solders in the film were not American military but were private mercenaries like backwater. Amazing how many people seem to miss that important point.

I can see what there getting at, but I took the movie literally. Terra-forming is a viable option in future space research and I think that this movie was like a preview made to ingrain the idea in our culture early so that future governments encounter less opposition to the idea of changing a natural planet (that might have life already) into a resource colony/experiment base. The technology behind controlling avatars is really not that far off. Using robots instead of blue dudes obviously. Scary. That type of long range warfare will the most vile thing to emerge from the 21st century. Might even get a world wide ban...
