At their request the USA now has to rescue both the Chinese and the Russians. So much for "superpower&quo t; status - can't even scrape together a basic rescue operation.

I hope that we at least send Beijing and Moscow a bill.

Don't worry hippies, the global warming fairy will save you. You'll just have to wait for it to be real.

Why not just say "Icebreaker stuck in ice?"… What's the significance of highlighting that it is a Chinese ship? Actually I am typing this note with a Macbook that was made and assembled in China!

The funniest part is that they were there to study global warming which is, of course, non-existant but did serve to make a lot of money for Al Gore. According to Al Gore there is no ice at the antarctic this year because all of it has melted due to global warming which is due to utilization of fossil fuels and the flatus from cattle. Seems as if he was just playing a joke albeit a very expensive one for Americans.

Very intelligent opinion, but how much money does your ex-girlfriend's mother's cousin made staying home last week?

This looks more like a wild comedy routine every day. Well, idiots want to challenge Mom Nature, let'em at it. And we expect the next act to be even funnier if that is possible. Stay tuned ...

Haha pretty soon they will have a bridge of chinese ice breakers to make the crossing. Send em all!

This is a result of failure of chinese command. Apparently, there ice-breaking is as good as their driving.

Is there any expectation of better conditions as the South summer progresses?
July is our hottest month up here — theirs would then be January. Hopefully a little bit of accumulated easing will emerge in the next couple of weeks for the Russian crew to extricate her.
