A new cemetery has been opened in central Russia, but this one is a bit different from others across the country: The site honors the German soldiers killed in Russia during World War II.
I can honestly say I have never been prouder of another country than I am now. Thank you for this.
I have to say, some people will not be pleased with this. I salute you Russia, from Southern California!!
I am an American who is not of German descent, but when I read about this I was profoundly moved by the generous and forgiving spirit of the great people of Russia. God bless you all for this magnificent example of charity. I hope the other European countries will follow suit. Hopefully this will lead to greater communication and cooperation between the indigenous European nations fostering true friendships so the awful tragedy of so many dead; young and old, male and female, will never happen again. God bless all of you! One last thing! Russians Rock!

Germany was at War with the Capitalist oligarchs from England and the USA. These where the ones that pulled all the strings. The Russian Government at that time was ruled mostly by foreign oligarchs, not Russians. More than 200 came from Switzerland and more than 370 from the USA. These where the ones that committed most of the atrocities, for which some people blame the Russians. I now know who the real culprits are. Are you kidding me? Hitler and the Nazis not only saw the Slavic peoples of Eastern Europe, Russia included, as inferior, they wanted to enslave the Slavs and colonize the area to claim living room for the "Aryans." The war on the Eastern Front was, for all intents and purposes, an ideological war, one that the Nazis waged because of their deranged, racist ideology. With that said, this is a very noble and moving act on the part of the Russians, and I have only respect and admiration for them for doing this.
What a majestic gesture toward an ex foe ---who were incedibly brutal to the Russian people! I'm sure it must have been a controversial undertaking. And to Mr. Sturhahn --Hitler said repeatedly that he viewed the war with Britain as fratricidal & that his true enemy was Stalin and the "untermensch" Slavs...also I suggest You read Himmlers plans for the conquered territories. He intended to keep only 30 million or so Slavs alive to work as slaves for the 3rd Reich...all the rest were to be terminated or deported east of the Urals. And that is historical FACT --which can be checked in the archives of the Nazis themselves or on numerous websites!
This gesture proves once again that the Russians have a GREAT SOUL.
