The father of “Avatar”, James Cameron, has dived into the waters of the deepest and oldest lake in the world, often referred to as “The Pearl of Siberia” - Lake Baikal.

Your story is nonsense in at least one way. This man is not an American. Cameron was born in Ontario, Canada not in the United States. Please do not confuse Our country with theirs. Gerald Conaboy.

I think when they refer to him as "the American director", they mean he is working in Hollywood. They write he is Canadian born. That director comment would lead to some confusion. He did have an application for US citizenship, but Bush disgusted him too much so he stopped.
