British jets shadow Russian plane
Published 21 Aug, 2007 17:42 | Updated 21 Aug, 2007 21:42A Russian military plane was shadowed by two Royal Air Force jets while approaching British airspace on Friday. Russia's Air Force has said it sees nothing unusual in NATO planes shadowing Russian bombers.
Aleksandr Drobishevsky, assistant to Russia's Air Force Commander, stressed that no strategic bomber flights carried out over the last six weeks entered another country's airspace.
Moscow insists foreign governments had been informed about the routes over the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans in advance.
