A top official from the Russian Federal Fishing Agency threw a huge sum of cash out of his car when police tried to detain him for bribery.

The incident took place in south Moscow on Thursday, Russian news agencies reported, quoting police sources. The official reportedly took 10 million rubles in cash (over $300,000) as a bribe from a commercial company engaged in fishing in the Moscow Region.

The police also reported that after throwing the money out of the car, the suspect tried to flee, but had to stop after a traffic accident and was detained. Police operatives were gathering the bills from the busy street until late at night.

Later reports said that two suspected bribe takers were detained after the incident.
