Mr Viktor Bout ' s affair is one of the most disgusting thing I have ever seen in my long life ;the poor man is the victim of a conspiracy by the USA which is the World's biggest arms dealer, trafficker and has a long ,endless tradition of promoting revolutions, unrest ,murders all over the World . The Russian Government should have more guts in defending its poor citizen and bereaved family. It is unfortunate that Josef STALIN ( Josef Vissarionovich Djugashvili ) is no longer alive and in power . It seems that the new ideology of Russia is Money and the export of its most beautiful women as prostitutes ; hardly a proud record! . Jacques Migeotte

Jacques you seem to have some nostalgia for the old days. i am sure most Russians would not agree on that point. in the case of Mr bout, his case is yet to be heard in a court, so i would not be jumping into labeling him as a poor victim of a conspiracy. It is no secret that he was trafficking arms to Liberia and the Congo. Russia is more then capable of defending its citizens as exemplified by its constitution forbidding extradition of its citizens and the south ossetia war.Other then providing council and observing the proceedings against him,i do not see what they can do for him. i do not think you are suggesting the Russians use force against Thailand. as for prostitution, it is the oldest occupation and no nationality is exempt from it.be it an American,Canadian,Briton, french or Russian, it does not stop a woman or man being a prostitute if they want to. for you information, communism did not stop prostitution, it was only done in secret but pretty much existed then too. If its people trafficking for the sex trade you are referring to, well it did occur after the collapse of the USSR, but to best of my knowledge, i had not heard of any Russians involved for a long time.

The fact alone that that the US, a foreign power, has the arrogance to throw it's weight around in a country like Thailand should make the case invalid and thrown out by the Thai courts. This is Thai jurisdiction not US. The perpetrators of the sting operation should be arrested and put into Bout's place for using and abusing the freedom and hospitality of Thailand. I find it outrageous of the US, the most violent and dishonest nation on earth, with a record to match, to expect the Thai court to do it's dirty work for them. The United States needs to be put in it's place . The United States suffers deeply from megalomania and needs to be shunned by the civilised world until the US learns to behave and interact in the world as a civilised member of the globe. It is unacceptable and unbearable to have a barbarian pontificating to the civilised world what is right and wrong. It is important for the Thai government to show the world that powers like the US cannot continue to get away with this level of dishonesty and disgraceful behaviour bu using and abusing nations at will. This level of power abuse must be stopped and Thailand has the chance to show the world what is acceptable and what is not. He is a Russian national and so Russia has the right to his custody. If he were American the Americans would demand exactly the same.

The US just make it up as they go along. There is no Justice n America, only fraud. Thailand will be corrupted by the US because they too are weak and corrupt. Just watch. The world should take US to court over many crimes they have committed. Lets see about that!!!!

In Lockerbie the UK covered for the US. With Bout I believe the US is covering for the UK because Bout was the front man for a UK/SIS operation. Bout refers to his partners. Who are they? Was one of them a former British officer, a senior logistician in the purchase and movement of arms, a man of many languages? A man now so protected by the UK government that innocent people have been sent to prison to ensure the lid is kept on his activities.
