Berlusconi is in US's way on their quest for European total control, and they are resorting to desperate measures but this attack will only make him more resolute because he's got people's masses support.

This could start a trend in world politics around the world, with terrible results. It could cause politicians to cling to their offices, out of fear, and only make television appearances {losing all personal contact with voters}. It is essential that voters get to know their office holders. Sound bytes will not do the job. Any high school kid can read a teleprompter in front of a camera and have it televised, without any personal contact. A real leader has the trust and respect of voters through good, honest deeds and telling the people the truth all the time {EVEN WHEN IT IS NOT CONVENIENT}. SELF GLORIFICATION IS NOT A TRAIT OF A GOOD LEADER. The people must know and trust their leaders.

I think a bit early to judge what is behind this disgraceful state of affairs, some reports point to some psychiatric issues. If that's the case then we need just take it on the chin and feel sorry for both victims. However, if there is some political motive, then it really is more evidence of the western way of doing politics, a way of violence and subversion. What the hypocritical west hasn't quite worked out, is what goes around comes around. So if you sponsor subversion and violence in other states, it won't be long. given the nature of modern communication, that it comes around to you. Then you need the heavy oppressive tactics like in Copenhagen, London .... to try to put the genie back in the lamp. But you never can, so in trying to destroy others, you destroy yourself. The west needs to start to learn this and give up the hypocrisy, otherwise you will simply fail to exist.

What you said Peter, does not make any sense. Italy is America's ally and the attacker was not even American. Typical now days when something goes wrong, blame America, but when you need us you will be the first people with your hand out for the Americans to come save the day. Give me a break!

Peter, I agree with your point. II do not know the real reasons behind this violent attack against Berlusconi but one thing is clear: the Anglo American ruling elite do not like this Italian Prime Minister- and this has nothing to do with his alleged infidelity; I think it has more to do with his warm relationship with Russia.

ffl What Perter said hame lot of sense.

@ ffl You are so right….its comical now to see when something happens “anywhere” somehow America is to blame….frankly…it is getting so old and pathetic… Whats even more stupid is that now that America has a black present the HATERS came up with this new term….”Anglo America”……lol……whatever….

ffl & Nuta US is Italy’s ally with biggest US’s bases in Italy? Why do the Americans need all those Yankees in Italy? Who are they protecting it from? They are there to keep Italy and Europe in check. If the attacker had been American that would have been too obvious and they recruited mentally disturbed person, poor guy. Do you know how many thousands US military and CIA personnel are recruited in Pentagon to keep the tension high in case a country walks away from US embrace? Italy and Europe don’t need US any more, the cold war is over, remember?!? So yanks pack up and go. But the yanks are there to build Americans controlled pipelines from Central Asia to EU bypassing Russia and imposing total control of the continent for a long time to come. I hope you know what energy means in the contemporary World? Do you recall Medvedev’s visit to Italy just few days prior to Berlusconi’s injury? Are you ffl & Nuta aware as why Medvedev was in Italy? Nuta, I don’t see any logic in your claim because US has a black president HATERS call them Anglo America?!? Afro America would have made sense....lol.....whatever......

Peter You are correct to point out that there is strong movement in Italy who aims at the removal of all American military bases and troops from Italian soil. You may also remember that recently Italian court has sentenced over 20 CIA operatives with the crime of extra ordinary rendition, kidnapping and torture. I want to make it clear that Berlusconi is a corrupt leader but he loves Russia. However, it is his close collaboration with Russia in number of areas including energy and technology that is making the Anglo American elite unhappy. I am not sure that this incident was an sponsored one. However, the Italian people have rallied behind their MP after he was assaulted. Hence, whilst I doubt this was an sponsored attack but the American and the British elite are not happy with Berlusconi’s warm relationship with Russia.

One lunatic decides to smash a souvenir in Berlusconi's face and all of a sudden it's an Anglo-American conspiracy? Maybe if Berlusconi would have some unexplainable car crash, there would be some food for thought. But come on, you can never rule out the possibility of one man acting on an impulse of his own. Could be a lunatic, could be some angry guy from just around the corner. But no, it's the evil Anglo-American empire plotting against European bonding with Russia by means of attacking the Italian PM with a souvernir!

peter December 15, 2009, 22:25 quote

Lunatics don’t resort to politically motivated crimes for the simple rationale because they are lunatics and they have a limit of political comprehension. So that’s ruled out. An angry guy from just around the corner acting on his own! Well, the consequences are extremely high as of what might happen to him afterwards as the whole nation will turn against him and his family no matter whether he is in prison or elsewhere. Bur recruited agent with a powerful foreign backing whom will be released for treatment on humanitarian grounds is most probable development. South Stream Gas Pipeline will give Italy total independence from US because it is shared project between Italy and Russia and it will strengthen their economy for a long time to come with hundreds of thousands directly created new jobs and hundreds of thousands indirectly created new jobs. This is a prospect worth disrupting for outside forces. On the other hand, Nabucco pipeline will further enslave Italy and EU because it is US owned and operated project designed to impose an upper hand on the country. Energy dependant country is politically dependant as well.

The attacker, 42-year-old Massimo Tartaglia, is currently in a psychiatric ward in the San Vittore prison. He has sent the prime minister a letter apologizing for his "cowardly" attack. My prediction is comming through that recruited agent with a powerful foreign backing whom will be released for treatment on humanitarian grounds is most probable development.
