In Iran it is felt that the United States is pursuing a tough strategy in Asia, says Iranian ambassador to Finland Seyed Rasoul Mousavi. The importance of such an Asia strategy for the United States is underlined by both the EU’s and the US’ own problems, Asian energy reserves and Asia’s growing young population.

Mousavihas written several studies of NATO strategy in the Caucasus and the Middle East. At our meeting, he stressed that he is not a politician but a researcher who happens to be Iran’s Ambassador to Finland, formerly to Tajikistan. He shared Iranian views on the turbulent decade in the Middle East with us.

Calling Israel and the USA "crazies" would indeed be an insult. However, describing holocaust-denying Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and mass murderer Bashar al-Assad as entirely sane is another matter altogether.

Russia keeps terrible friends.

To Marzipan6: I would not like to insult Israel and USA as you wrote against Israel and USA as "crazies". They have nuclear weapons, and they have war there and there almost non-stop, but still I would like to suppose that they are enough responsible to independence of Iran. We are not in need of speaking about "crazies". It is better to speak about strategical game in global policy.
