In particular, a Flemish newspaper... Three parts in Belgium: Flanders on one side, Brussels and Wallonia, including the German speaking community on the other. Flemish sometimes lack empathy for other human beings.

Shilka, you can see the picture here: http://i.imgur.com/yhuRW.jpg I personally find it offensive and of very bad taste, and I'm not even polish.

http://www.lesoir.be/zc/vignettes475x300/mediastore/_2010/avril/du_11_au_20/_14_gazet2.jpg This is the link. And today they finally apologised after houndreds of emails from disgusted people. Btw. Thank you for all nice words and support during those hard days for us. And now this :/ Do you know how French people joke about them (citizens of Belgium)? "Stupid as Belge" Seems like it's true. It's not the first time they insult people's feeling after tragic events. Shame on them.

Journalism and free expression in some nations, like Denmark, Norway, the Netherlands and Belgium, can be very insensitive at times of tragedy. Belgium is a deeply divided nation, which should be split up between France and the Netherlands. Only the European Union is holding it together. I would rather spend a week in Poland rather than one day in Belgium.

i just have one thing to say to the creators of the 'the eagle has landed' cartoon in the gazet van antverpen: when your leaders die or someone in your family, let me know. i can be pretty creative, too... we will laugh together. boneheads!!!

I don't feel offended and I cannot be. This is how someone, a caricaturist or a cartoonist or an artist or however the position's called, found it suitable to react. What we consider "offensive" or "non-offensive" should be our private matter. We might wonder why did the Belgian man/woman draw it or publish it this way and not another, but that's all we're allowed to as Poles and as humans. Perhaps there is some sense behind this picture, some rationale that is actually wise. I might not see it yet, but this wouldn't make it nonexistent. I've seen it and I'm a Pole. But - note - the fact I'm Polish should not weigh on anything nor influence how you interpret or react to this message.

Of course, artists are free to express themselves... let him/her hang it at home... or at the editors' house. A decision to publish 'such a piece of art' is quite brainless... PS. Not only French but also the Dutch say that the Belgians are stupid...
