Legendary French actress and animal rights campaigner Brigitte Bardot has thanked Russian PM Vladimir Putin for supporting an initiative to ban the hunting of baby seals.

Dear Bridget Badot you are forever an icon of beauty and compassion! I am glad you are involved in stopping the slaughter of Canadian Seals. You are a hero for all you do. Thank you for expressing gratitude and respect to Mr. Putin. Many of us in america wish for an opportunity to thank him!
