Residents of a small Russian village are struggling for life. Local authorities have stopped sending food supplies to a remote settlement that has no shops and only five ageing residents.
Take pictures, in case those places become ghost towns. There are a lot of folks interested in the history of small towns and they like to visit the old sites.
I never can believe my eyes reading in the 21st Century about money not being manufactured as a basic need, a CREDIT indeed - just like a UTILITY, a must have. Therefore, those who allow this to occur when money is not anything but a kind of energy for humans to share ... well, what an abomination our idea of civilization truly is in 2009 and counting.
Why supply trucks? This costs money. How about renting a space from one of the remaining residents and using it as a store. Pay this "shopkeeper", and have them supplied. I am sure there is no mystery as to what these people shop for. And when the weather is better, send the truck to resupply. This may be much cheaper.

This is common in the villages of Russia. Our village that we go to has 10 people and no store. The road is 5 km of goat trail. :) The people have a terrible time surviving but... As you said no money is available and this is not a new thing and a new financial crises issue. This is an always since the collapse of the Soviet Union crises... Kyle
