Russian emergency workers are apt to use unconventional techniques to save not only people, but animals as well. Rescuing a pregnant horse from a well near Kursk, they had to give it alcohol to prevent it from freezing.

yup, and it'll clean its mouth as well. So if it can't get to a good dentist, at least it won't die from an infection.

wow thats pretty insane. im a horse owner and i dont think u should give anything pregnant alcohol, but i guess it saved the day. i wonder if the colt survived.
