One of the leaders of international terrorist network Al-Qaeda has blamed Lebanese Islamist movement Hezbollah and the Lebanese army for protection of Israel from terrorists.

Hezbollah and Al-Qaeda are two completely different things. Hezbollah is a political organization and basically a 'partisan' militia type group. It's interest is in defending it's country, not imposing it's will on another country. Furthermore, they are from different Islamic sects: Al-Qaeda is a Sunni group, and Hezbollah is Shia and backed by Iran. Al-Qaeda claims that it hates Iran and considers it's Shiite beliefs blasphemous. The two are natural enemies, and Al-Qaeda has condemned Hezbollah on several occasions. It has even tried to make Hezbollah look bad by launching rockets into Israel that later get blamed on Hezbollah. One notable instance of this occurred around the time of the Gaza war. Nobody believed that Hezbollah did not fire those rockets into Israel, only to have Al-Qaeda admit that they did it many months later. In short, the two groups have never been allied or even sympathetic to one another, so it's a bit misleading to depict them as now 'being at odds' over Israel.
