Lawlessness imported from America

Iraq and Afghanistan are generally painted as countries that are teeming with lawlessness, but American cases of theft, rape and murder reveal that some of the unsavory elements in the Middle East are imported.

As Obama moves against homegrown terrorists, it’s time to read the fine print

The president's national security strategy focuses the big security guns on homegrown terrorism, but some observers fear the new program will ride roughshod over democratic terrain.

America has given a license for Israel to kill peaceful demonstrators who want to bring aid to the terrified people of Gaza suffering under the Israeli blockade. A few days ago, Israel executed 9 passengers by shots to the head on a cruise ship sailing peacefully in international waters. One of the executed was an American citizen, and Obama didn't take any action to punish Israel. Israel has been embolden by the green light she has received from America, and that is why I would not be surprised if Israel executes some of the passengers on this Irish ship.

This is not the first Israeli killing of peace activists and stopping of humanitarian aid to Palestinian to the Palestinians. Some weeks ago Israel stopped the humanitarian aid collected by British MP Mr.George Galloway. And the Rachel Corie? She was a young peace activist from US, who was killed by Israel when she tried to stop a demolition of a Palestinian home. An Israeli soldier bulldozed her in cold blood. But the news of her death was suppressed by the US media. They think that the most people they kill, the more people will be deterred to jeopardize what they regard as their security. Moshe Dayan, Israel's most celebrated general, famously outlined the strategy he believed would keep Israel's enemies at bay: "Israel must be a like a mad dog, too dangerous to bother." But they attained peace. due to their cruelty.

Hamas is a dangerous organisation which does not accept the state of Israel. Israeli raid was prompted by security considerations. How can one assure that under the cover of providing relief material Hamas would be supplied with weapons to launch attacks on Israel. Just as we in India for years have been subjected to Islamic jihad i violence.

I guess it will have to fall upon the Turkish Navy to enforce the seas to break this illegal blockade. We know why the U.S has not done anything for they are just wagged by the Israeli dog. After what Israel, and the U.S done to Russia in Georgia I wonder why the Russian Navy won't join up with the Turks to help the people of Gaza out ?

I said at the beginning of this tragic episode that America would not condemn Israel and would give its satellites instructions to fall into line in support of Israel. Is there an explanation of American and European behaviour towards Israel? Is there an explanation of Israeli behaviour that, on the surface, appears quite irrational if not altogether insane? I believe there is a perfectly logical explanation and it is one that is never mentioned although it is widely known among world leaders. Israel holds the Ace of Trumps, given to it by certain European nations (particularly France and Britain). It can, at a moment of its choice, render the world into a nuclear desert. That is the terrible truth that all nations have to face. That is the truth that limited the help to Arab nations from the Soviet Union. That is the truth that limits action by the United States. Europe bears a terrible responsibility for Israel. That is why it says nothing against Israel. That is what binds the United States so closely to Israel, because it knows full well the power wielded by that despicable land. Perhaps that is why the United States is so keen to develop an effective missile defence – not against potential enemies such as China or Russia, but against friends who have their fingers on the nuclear button. No one dares speak of this. The conspiracy of nuclear ambiguity is feverishly adhered to by all major nations, most of which know the truth. Never again will Israel suffer at the hands of other nations. Instead, it holds them in thrall, with the power of life and death on this small planet of ours. This explains the arrogance of Israel and the servile way that the United States and its satellites fall into line. They dare not risk offending Israel because of this terrible power and, more importantly, the evil madness to use it.

This is not about this one incident but the total relationship or lack thereof between all the countries involved in the Middle East. There is so much distrust that fear is everywhere among the leaders of the countries and the people within each of the countries. What is occurring is the creation of the perfect storm to literally destroy the Middle East. We can all pick and choose sides, that will not bring security to the countries or the people of the Middle East. Right now Israel will do as Iran … thumb their nose at the rest of the world in order to protect them self. The more we isolate the more paranoia will be displayed. Israel has remedied the threat of a nuclear attack from Iran. They have now established a military policy to send their nuclear weapons to the Persian Gulf. Happy days are here again for the rest of the world. Now watch what Iran will do to protect them self. Escalation will abound. Does this sound familiar with respect to the Cold War Era? Be careful what we ask for we might just receive the request and we may become very unhappy. The question asked in a Shakespearian Play …”To be or not to be that is the Real Question …?” That is a question the rest of the World must ask about the Middle East. *********************gaptidbits@yahoo.com***********************

No, Israel will not harm any of these boat people. Israel is not "America's Child", so I do not believe they gave any permissions or licenses to kill. But, the Israel influence in America is VERY strong. Part of this is political, money, influence driven and part religious driven, due to the strong Protestant following in America that is VERY pro-Israel in general.

the war is on against Israel. can someone recall when did Israel lost a war in the past, be it cold war or all scale? the difference b/n Israel and the Arab world is that Israel is a democratic country. only a democratic society can have a sober thinking and accept the reality that Israel is unlikely to lose a war, hence better to cooperate rather than confront. Egypt seems to understand the Israeli have no where to go, and there will never be peace in the region untill the rest of the Arab world comes to understand this fact. The "charity" is simply an instrument for the anti-Israel hate groups, since they openly refused to heed the Israeli concerns. According to them its OK for hamas firing rockets towards Israel

I believe the President knows the threat of or use of … Containment, Sanctions, War … are all adversarial position … In my country we have those that say the Obama Administration does not support Israel and is even disdainful of Israel. This is outrageous. If one investigates the number of Jews in power positions in the administration, one would wonder why the lies regarding the Obama Administration’s support are so prevalent. These statements are so dishonest that one would think those in opposition are trying to weaken this country. There are leaders in Israel that believe the United States through the current administration is not supportive. I do not believe this position. ********************************gaptidbits@yahoo.com*******************

I believe the true road to peace in the Middle East may involve the belief in the threat of the above by the leaders in the Middle East and that they finally see a disastrous end to Civilization in the Middle East. Much is at stake. ... Set up a Middle East Nuclear Non-Proliferation Powers Partners Act. Wouldn’t that be interesting??? Wouldn’t that be exciting???? Wouldn’t that be amazing???? Think about the possibilities, when, not if; but when, it is accomplished, and finally come the establishment of peace in the Middle East …!!!!!!! The reason I bring this up, is that when we look at several countries … Israel, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Iran and I am sure … other countries in the immediate area … as they continue to refine their capabilities to produce a bomb and a delivery system … we see an ongoing, very dangerous, and volatile situation in the Middle East. I believe the President and his Middle East advisors including the Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, want a total solution in the Middle East … a solution which includes …the security of the region, resolution to the Iran Nuclear threat, political independence of members in the region, the economical stability in the region, along with solutions to any other topical concerns of the members in the region.

I am 67 years of age. Soon to be 68. I remember the many wars, peace offerings and suffering that Israel has gone through. From Reagan to now Israel has been involved with many of the countries in the Middle East. The biggest con was the deal Israel was able to make with Tehran Iran of hostages for weapons. This occurred during the Reagan Presidency. Ironic!!!! Who knows maybe Israel helped to influence the Election of Ronald Reagan. HMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM??????? Believe it or not President Obama is the US President that can bring Peace to the Middle East. A peace that is meaningful to all in the Middle East. Here is the reason why. Since Bush-two’s coronation the Middle East has gone from Bad to Worse. Iran, Afghanistan, Pakistan, India, Turkey and others are on the fringe of a very explosive situations. Korea and Iran even became odd bed-fellows. We enter at this time a more dangerous situation then ever before. The cold war is nothing compared to the total destruction of the Middle East ... a strong possibility.

DavidKenedy, you have a VERY interesting argument and I believe there is a lot of truth in it. But, there is not another nuclear nation surrounded within a few miles of enemies of the state. Pick any other nuclear power that experiences what Israel is and has experienced now and over the past 40 years, and would we expect the same types of behavior from them? I think we probably would.

TURKS HAVE NO RIGHT TO DEFEAT FREEDOM AS THEY ARE OCCUPYING CYPRUS! In 1974, following 11 years of intercommunal violence[22] and an attempted coup d'état by Greek Cypriot nationalists, Turkey invaded and occupied the northern portion of the island. The intercommunal violence and subsequent Turkish invasion led to the displacement of hundreds of thousands of Cypriots and the establishment of a separate Turkish Cypriot political entity in the north. These events and the resulting political situation are matters of ongoing dispute.

@ GaryMax, I think North Korea gets the same "Kid Gloves" treatment because they, too, act like mad dogs that nobody wants to fight. And they have the Bomb, also. (apart from that, I do not compare North Korea to Israel :) )

This part of the world is a powder keg and I know both Palestinians and Israelis Irl I have had a hard time to pick any particular side in this conflict as both sides can be held accountable for outrageous acts of violence against one and another. I can side with the fact that Israel needs to control what is going in and out from Gaza. What I can't side with them about is that buildings materials and other necessity's to make Gaza workable again as a home for Palestinians is not achievable for them in other ways then that they have to smuggle these in through those dreadful tunnels. Now I sometimes wonder if Jews remember how they where treated in Europe in the 1930s and onwards. Their restrictions on everything and how they were denied the very same things the Palestinians is denied many essentials today. I do not support Hamas, I would never do that because I know Palestinians that had to flee Palestine because they were trapped in between Israeli Forces and Hamas "freedom fighters." I believe Hamas is today made completely necessary part of the Gaza citizens. I would welcome them to drawback like Fatah did in the 1980s and that way give the citizens of Gaza a chance to break free from all these restrictions. Give Israel a chance to follow suit and neutralize the entire issue. If Palestinians want peace, if Israel is to be held accountable for anything this got to disappear or there won’t be any peace, it will only be more bloodshed and destruction. To Hamas I say, be the greater warrior, retreat, put down arms and fight with political means and people will look upon you as something else then a terrorist group. For Israel there is not much I can say right now, I think it is wrong that there is these harsh restrictions on the civilian population in Gaza. But I can't on the same time sit blind and let civilians being in the sights of suicide bombers missiles and rockets and accept that, no nation could live like that. Give peace a real chance both retreat.

Except that North Korea has neither the size nor the capability of the Israeli nuclear deterrent and are perhaps somewhat more isolated geographically .

It looks like RT is allowing itself to be swallowed by Israeli apologists. I find it outrageous that in this string of comments victim and aggressor are found equally at fault. Some of the comments--evidently originating from pro-Zionist sources, have even shown the audacity of totally disregarding world opinion and reaction against the violent, unprecedented actions of Israel. Lies and truth cannot be placed on the same pedestal. The truth in the Israeli attacks on the humanitarian ships is so obvious that it takes real guts, or RT's cooperation, to allow disgusting lies to be thrown at our faces. Can one imagine to witness this kind of indirect suppression of free speech "free speech" forums of the Jewish-controlled press?
