Shows you how limited Ahmadinejad's thinking is. He assumes that just because it is so in Iran, that that is how it runs in other countries. His comments on the press amply illustrate this. He can't think beyond state control as being the reason why he gets the same questions. Here's one explanation that never crossed his mind: they ask the same questions because that's what the American public wants to know about. There are, after all, certain flash-points that everyone is concerned about, and the media focuses on them naturally. I am certain that there are very few people in the US who care, or want to hear, or would buy papers that talk about how many tonnes of dates Iran exports yearly. Clinton, as annoying as she may be, is right in that Iran is trying to deflect attention away from it's own activities by launching wild accusations at everyone else. Thankfully, most governments in the west, along with the IAEA and the UN, are run by people who are not impressed by pretty language alone and who know that words are empty. The only thing that counts are hard, cold facts. And the hard, cold facts weigh strongly against Iran. When I look at what Ahmadinejad says, I see someone who wants the UNSC out of the way so that Iran will have a free run at whatever they choose to do. It's not about inefficiency or other defects; it's all about Iran getting it's way. Iran would like nothing more than for everyone else to get rid of nuclear weapons, so that it alone would have them and ram Islam down everyone's throats. Yes, I was really offended at Ahmadinejad's constant usage of the term 'monotheism' in his address and his ignorant comments that the whole world is monotheistic. It's not. Great swathes of it are polytheists. It's therefore frightening to hear such a global view put forth before the UN. It makes you realize that if Iran had the power and the nukes to do it, it would without a doubt launch an Islamic crusade against these people.

Also, nice try at attempting to explain away Iran's recent announcements about joining the 'nuclear club', but it doesn't wash. The term 'nuclear club' was obviously chosen in the mistaken belief that it easily be turned around to obfuscate Iran's intent if needed. But the term 'nuclear club' is internationally defined as the group of nations possessing nuclear weapons, and not an even a totally brainless individual would take it any other way.

The U.S. media is like the U.S. bipartisan system. There are just two parties with possibilities to be in Government: Democrat and Republican. And both parties have Conservative and Liberal MPs, and both support the same socio-economic system. So what can anybody expect from the main, far reaching, media? The same. Differences between Republicans and Democrats and from the media that supports one party or the other are small for the rest of the World, but at least for those small differences we could talk about "US media controlled by BIPARTISAN unit" more than about a single one.

“Many of our colleagues in the Arab world say openly that if Iran obtains a nuclear bomb, they will not beat around the bush. They will make their own bomb, just to have it,” Medvedev said. “That would mean the uncontrolled expansion of the nuclear club,” Medvedev warned, and added that “In that case, no summits like the one we held in Washington will help. That would be a new page in the history of mankind, and a very sad one at that.” Link : http://rt.com/Top_News/2010-04-14/nuclear-summit-non-proliferation.html?fullstory

Thank you Marina for being wonderful, thoughtful, competent and ethical. Thank you Marina also for clarifying the difference between headscarf/ hijab and a nikab! Oh well, Alas! Perhaps your colleague needs to know in that interview with the President of Iran you looked as much a Russian woman in the sense of the Russian Orthodox Christian tradition as a Muslim woman. You looked modest as a sign of respect, nothing more.

There are many aspects in this interview that deserve careful consideration since they reflect reality. While not always expressed in an elegant manner, they reflect know facts that few politicians have dared to declare since cold war. USA has been the single most horrendous violator of world peace since WWII by attacking defenseless countries around the world. Here again they have ganged up with its imperialist allies to prepare public opinion by false accusations, to justify its future military intervention and extend amplitude of military aggression in the region. Iran is a country that has tremendously suffered from such an aggression committed by Saddam’s regime which was fueled by his former supporter, i.e. the USA. Therefore allegations that Iran may want to be engaged in another military conflict are totally senseless. Former Iranian government has several times cooperated in a vast spectrum of political and strategic matters with the US but they got nothing from the former US administration other than threat, insult and humiliation. This is clear evidence to Ahmadinejad’s statement that special interests that control the US administration need a volatile Middle East. Furthermore the US President is too weak and vulnerable not to give in to these tendencies

It is a rare pleasure, to read an interview with an honest man, these days, and Mahmoud Ahmadinejad delivers it. Overall, I think that Iran's diplomacy is top-notch -- despite the playing field being so enormously distorted to their unfavour, they still manage to expose things how they are, mainly by refusing to accept the frame of reference dictated by the West. God help them, they are symbolic in their open challenge of the anglospheric hegemony.

Very good questions asked and of course the man was as honest as only he can be. The facts are very simple. Israel has nukes, Iran doesn't. Israel doesn't allow IAEA inspection of their nuclear sites, Iran does. Israel invades and occupies their neighbour's territories, Iran doesn't. Iran is a signatory to the NPT, Israel isn't. How can I bake bread in my house, then tell my neighbour if you also bake bread in your house it's wrong? The hypocrisy is ridiculous

Mbach is not very smart. He does not see the deceit that is built-into US policy regarding Iran. The US goal is NOT about preventing Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons. The US knows there are no Iranian nuclear weapons. It is a red herring, meant to scare ignorant and uninformed people to support another illegal military misadventure (ala Iraq) against Iran. This fearmongering about Iran is about regime change, nothing else. The US seems to have taken to heart the saysing "if you like often enough, people will start to believe it." Mbach, The VAST MAJORITY of people in the world are not stupid! They remember what the US did in Iraq, how it lied and made up fake documents and evidence. And they know that the US is trying to do the same to Iran. This time the lies will not work. The US cannot be trusted. This is the #1 lesson which the world needs to learn, before it's too late.

I have said it many times before and will say it again - Mr. Ahmadinejad, please take lessons in media managment. The US, Israel, and the UK have the media so tied up and biased in thier favour that they can make almost anything Ahmadinejad has to say sound 'hard-line', undiplomatic, unhelpful, 'anti-semitic', anti-western, or whatever else they decide on the day. Ahmadinejad has many interesting things to say - and many people are interested in listening. He just needs to play the media game in order to get his message accross.

@ Mbach Your fact-less, baseless points shows your zionist bias. Dr Ahmedinejahd has brought to the world a refreshing honesty that is infectious. Soon people all over the world including my country will demand the kind of honesty this man diplays. He is clearly not in the position of president to enrich himself. Our western leaders can learn a hell of alot of him. God speed Mr President, you have the support of all the world's people!
