Both major candidates in Afghanistan's presidential election, the current president Hamid Karzai and his main challenger Abdullah Abdullah, are claiming victory after Thursday's vote.
No, it's the beginning of kleptocracy. These so called "leaders" "alternatives" are nothing but meglomaniacs and self-serving *****. They are not there because of the utmost compassion and care for theirs, "his people". They are there to serve themself and the ones that gave them the freedom to do so. They are not a free alternative. But a composed one to give the legitimacy and view as they being democratic. Its not freedom, its domination by the force that prevails there. You are just among the many who are delusional in this world and i can only guess that you "hope" its so because that you want to feel pride and that what your country and government is doing there are right, just and that it will bring prosperity to the people in Afghanistan. To refuse to vote, to refuse to give legitmacy to these so called leaders/rulers and their ways to influence and use people for their own needs are nothing but right and the correct way to deal with what is going on in Afghanistan. The forces of death rule Afghanistan. Thats the realisation people need to get and understand, than being delusional and think that they are free and that the forces there are bringing freedom to them. They are setting up leaders/dictators that will serve them, and not the people.

I think it is a positive sign that these rivals are disputing the election without killing each other. Could this be the beginning of Democracy? I hope so. Those who refused to vote should also be recognized. They probably have valid reasons. Gene H., San Francisco
