At least 12 people, including five United Nations personnel, have been killed in an attack on a UN guest house in the Afghan capital Kabul.
Could this be a small 9/11? After this it will be easier to get the public support for sending more troops to Afganistan.

But the UN has to go back to basics and explain why it is supporting the imposition of sham elections and ideology on a country! The UN is in danger of just being a UNATO in this situation. The UN is walking a very fine line, and it is costing it lives. It would be better if the UN concentrated on the humanitarian situation and also spoke out strongly against NATO and US targeting of civilians.Russia needs speak out here about a less than honourable position that the UN is placing itself in. If the UN becomes a political arm of NATO and the US in this, then it will be treated as aligned and become a target. We should not lose the UN, which is the only realistic chance of a credible world body, for the sake of trying to legitimise the breaches of international law by the US and NATO. If we are quiet, then there will be no UN, just a UNATO.
