Awful story..

This is a heartbreaking story. Such animals have to be persecuted and punished as strictly as it's possible. In other countries pour child would be taken away with no discussion until further investigation. If even a child said "my mother beats me" Even animals don't do such harm. This amoral and absolutely unacceptable. Why did organisations which suppose to look after such crimes left pour child in hands of this monsters ?! Hm! Let me guess maybe because this monsters are wealthy and that ani/male works as a chairman of a Russian Prado Bank ?! I use to respect Russian legislation and government but not any more. We'll see by the end of this story if there's justice in Russia. P.s. Look in this child's eyes can he be so bad that, that they were throwing him out on the street for night ?! Does he really deserves to be beaten to death with a boiling cattle?! AMORAL ANIMALS !!!

I grow up as an unwonted child in my byological family. That is how I ended up in tha Bulgarian Jail and then in the USA. I'm a father now and I can only imagin what is this baby going throughout in a monsters family. Any unwonted Russian Baby is a Russian Baby and the Russian Federation MUST treat them without of propagand and reservations!

i have 3 kids, they age 15, 13 and 3. i ask my two elders son to take care of there yonger brother whem i'm not around.i'm very sad to see this young child mistreated by his adopted parents.i just ask myself why such cruelty be inplicted to a very younger age. i'm not a russian but i admired this people and there culture and i do believed that justice will be serve for this little child and i hope there are other parents more deserving to take them. lets not forget that children are the future of our country and your country and may even become a great leader!

This is such an atrocious and shocking story. It made me really sad and angry. Perhaps the parents should have their genitals mutilated, thrown out of the house to sleep with the dogs at night, and have their teeth knocked out for punishment?? So they can know what it feels like! It's not even their child for christ's sake. Sounds like the regimen and background checks for adoption there in Russia are not stringent enough. Nothing could have prevented them from even killing the child if they had wanted to. I hope they never get any of the children back. They should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. Just looking at the little boy's beautiful (yet battered) face out me to tears...I also read about the other story where another child was thrown off a bridge and his body was weighed down. People are sick, sick, sick...

This is an atrocious story, my best wishes to Gleb, it is good that the authorities took action to protect him, I just hope he finds a new loving family to take care of him and surround him with love and happiness, not pain and torture. This should never happen to anyone, let alone an innocent child. Why didn't the neighbours report this????

Substantial fine along with being sentenced to community service.No they should be in prison for a long time and let the other prisoners do the same to them.in prison the inmates have a strict code GOOD LUCK GLEB AND GOD BLESS YOU you will find a nice family soon who will love you

Please...give me 40 minutes alone with those pieces of scum who did this! Those who think that poor Gleb "really asked for it" are really abusive freaks who may be abusive to their children. I will pray for Gleb.

I completely agree with "englishman"! A fine, of any amount, and community service is belittling the little boy's importance. These people brutally beat Gleb and all they have to do for punishment is pick up some trash. Big Deal!! They should be helping regularly to better the community anyways, so the Russian government is going to punish Gleb's foster parents by making them do something they should already be doing in the first place?! NEWS FLASH: they both need to go to prison! A simple fine and community service will absolutely NOT teach these wanna-be parents their lesson. And the fact that their parental rights MIGHT be taken away!? What's that all about? She should have her tubes tied so she can't have any babies of her own! If she can't love a child for just being a human and one of God's creations, then she doesn't deserve to try to love a child of her own. Theses parents are messed up and I will take mercy on them, as I hope everyone else will, but they do not deserve to have another child. May God have mercy on their souls. I will most definitely help Julia pray for Gleb and Ponia. But also I believe we should pray for Anton and Larisa as well. You don't have to like it, but don't hate them completely. We are all God's creations.

This report is so heartbreaking, I cannot imagine what God is thinking. I pray this couple will not ever get another child through adoption or biological. No one should be treated that way, especially an innocent four year old. I hope he gets a super loving family to live with - a family who loves Jesus. One thing that puzzles me is why the neighbors didn't report this family for making children stay outside with the animals. If the animals were dogs though, perhaps he got alot better treatment. What a shame. Neighbors, love your neighbors.

I am the adoptive Mom of 2 Russian children, living in the US and this story breaks my heart. Child abuse is a world wide issue. The crime exists everywhere and we all need to be more watchful and stand up for these children who have no one else to protect them. Report any suspect abuse. It really does take a community to raise a child. God bless this poor child and give him and the little girl a true loving home.

This saddens me child abuse the world over. It appears they do not have enough child protection that the father was able to take him home from the hospital. How much investigation or are the rules strict enough for adoption. Something is wrong that there is another case pending. I hope this is a wake up call for the keeper of the keys.

The obvious answer: God was NOT thinking. As for praying, though it is a nice gesture, it proves utterly useless. In regards to the 'punishment' the government has prescribed for them, it is obvious the system is broken--the same way it is broken in the U.S.

Just so you know Ms. Fitzgerald, and other Americans tooting your horns about US Judiciary, if you do some research you will find that 15 horrific cases in the US (all ending in death of adopted children) have taken place since 1996.  Many of the parents, ANIMALS as you say (I agree) were let off with very light sentencing, including simply community service, and one man who left his 21 month old Dmitry Yakovlev in a car for 9 hrs while he went to work for the day, Dmitry died of heat stroke, right at home in VIRGINIA and the ANIMAL father was completely acquitted(no charges at all), so check the facts before you are so quick to judge Russia as inferior.
